Chief Yeye Ewe, Mother of all Children and Founder and CEO of Ifa For Kids




Chief Ewe is the Founder and CEO of Ifa for Kids. Yeye is a Priest of Ifa, Priest of Osun, Priest of Egunun and Priest of Egbe. She is a member of the Sode Society and Chief of the Iroko Village. Yeye has been practicing Ifa since 2010 when she received her Hand of Ifa. She received her Sode Ifa in 2013. She went to Africa to receive her Priest initiations at Atunfato Traditional Healing Home in Abeokuta, Nigeria in 2015. Chief Yeye Ewe was installed as a Chief in 2021. Yeye has been studying metaphysics and healing for 30 years. She is a Reiki Master Teacher, an Ordained Minister, Grid Healer, Akashic Records Reader, and an Integrated Awareness Graduate. She is the author of Ifa For Kids: An Aborisha Manual. Yeye trains and teachers Priests and Aborisha nationally and internationally. She is the proud Godmother to God children across the US, Canada and the Caribbean.
Chief was raised on Long Island, New York and attended Binghamton University where she graduated with a BA in Rhetoric and Literature. Her Master’s degree in early childhood special education was attained from Penn State University.
Yeye is a dynamic and passionate Special Educator with over 30 years of dedicated service to young children and their families. She currently serves as a Program Administrator, Early childhood Services for the State of Maryland, where she leads the development and management of early childhood mental health programs statewide.
Renowned for her deep expertise and compassionate approach, she has built her career around strengthening systems of care and enhancing workforce capacity. She is a State Master Trainer in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) Interface, the Pyramid Model, Youth, Resilience, Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid, and HOPE (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences). In addition, she is a National Trainer for FAN (Facilitating Attuned Interaction), a model used nationally to promote reflective relationships between providers and families.
Throughout her extensive career, Yeye has taught at numerous colleges and universities across Maryland, mentoring the next generation of educators, counselors, and mental health professionals. Her work has been featured in videos and on national platforms related to children’s mental health, resilience, and early childhood development—demonstrating her influence and thought leadership in the field.
In recognition of her impactful advocacy, Yeye ( D’Lisa Worthy) received the prestigious Alma Troccoli Award for Excellence in Advocating for the Mental Health Needs of Young Children and Their Families in 2017. In 2025 she received the Maryland SCCAN and Essentials for Childhood Leadership Award for Advocate of the Year for outstanding vision, dedication and commitment to ACE and Resilience Informed Policy. Her ability to weave together policy, practice, and pedagogy has helped shape effective and responsive services for Maryland’s most vulnerable populations.
At the heart of Yeye’s work is an unshakable passion for children. She believes every child deserves to be seen, heard, and nurtured in safe and supportive environments. Her life’s mission is rooted in ensuring that children and their families have access to the resources and relationships that promote lifelong wellness and learning.
Chief is the proud mother of 3 outstanding young men, Jaylen, Donovan and Amari. She has been married to her husband James for 30 years.
