How It All Started
Imagine if, as a child, you were given the tools to connect deeply with your ancestral lineage…
✨ taught the meaning of good character,
✨ reminded that nature is your first teacher and connect to your own nature and express your emotions,
✨ and be guided by a system of wisdom and divination that helped you trust your inner knowing.
How different would your life be today?
This vision is at the heart of Ifa for Kids. It was born from a dream: to create a safe, loving, and spiritual community where children could grow up with the guidance and practices many of us longed for when we were young.
“I wanted a community like this for myself and my kids.” – Chief Ewe, D’Lisa Ramsey Worthy
Ifa for Kids is more than a program—it is a movement. Whether you are raising a child or simply supporting the children of our village, you are helping to dream a world where the next generation grows in wisdom, balance, and love. Together, we are creating a space where children can truly continue to remember who they are.
About
Us
What is IFA?
Ifa is the study of nature and the study of our nature. It is learning about yourself and how you fit into nature. It is a way of life. It comes from Africa but is practiced around the world. It comes from the Yoruba people of West Africa.
Inside Ifa: The study of yourself and what makes you an individual. Like your name, birthday, Odu, favorite food, gifts and talents. Outside Ifa: The study of the world around you as found in nature and the things we share like the Earth, our neighborhood, and Yearly readings for the Community
What is a lineage?
The sequence of your Ancestory and where you come from. The traditions of your teacher that are passed down from teacher to student that explains certain ways we do things.

What is our lineage?
Ifa for Kids is its own lineage as we are teachers who pass information to students that is related to the way we see the world, our beliefs, knowledge and our traditions. *Chief Ewe, Iya Shangoyemi and Iya Fasewa were initiated at Atunfato Traditional Healing Home in Abeokuta, Nigeria under the leadership of Ifasola Akanbi.

What is an Ile?
Ile is an Yoruba word for ‘family’. It is a spiritual family led by an Oluwo (head of the family). It is a community where everyone has gifts that benefit the whole ile. There are Iyas (Godmothers/priestess), Babas (Godfathers/Priests), Sode (Women society), and Aborishas (God children). We gather together to do rituals and ceremonies that honor Ifa. Anyone that becomes a part of Ifa can be a part of an ile no matter their gender, race, or nationality.
